There is no such thing as a kid “making up their own mind”. If you do that you aren’t parenting, you are a motel manager.
Kids don’t grow up in a vacuum. They are influenced by parents, siblings, other relatives, neighbors, friends, teachers, tv, movies, magazines, books, etc, etc. So anyone who says that they will let their kids make up their own minds is really saying that they will just let other people influence their kids more. Again, this isn’t parenting. If you plan to do this, don’t have kids.
