In 2006, a ballad titled “Jonah Hex” was written by songwriter Ian Frazier and later recorded at Elevator Studios in Long Beach, California. According to Frazier, the inspiration for the song came from reading the current series written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, which began in January 2006. The song, which features Frazier on acoustic guitar and vocals, is in narrative form and includes a third verse that retells Jonah’s origin as depicted in the current series in issues 13-15.
