Help with acting career decision, please?
Question by Eagles: Help with acting career decision, please?
I have recently graduated high school and am currently attending college. The problem is, I just don’t feel like this is the right path for me. I have thought of doing other things and would want to do that for a while but their is one thing that has always interested me and I want to pursue with all my heart but feel afraid to do so. That thing would be acting. I love to sit down and watch a movie to see how the story unfolds and how the actors portray their character. I believe movies can convey a lot of emotions and I want to be a part of that. I don’t want to do it for the money or the fame, this is something that I really want to do because I am so fascinated with the art of movie making. I want to be able to delve into a characters life and become that person to be the best for that movie. I just feel so scared. Going to college is good and all but it isn’t helping me towards my dream. Should I move to California to give it a shot?

I don’t have the answer because I feel the exact same way. I graduate next year, and I’m scared to decide to either go to college, or move to L.A. and pursue acting. I too would LOVE to be in a movie and try to get into your character and potray how you think that character should act in the movie. It is a scary decision because in college you have a 100% chance of a good job, where as in hollywood, it’s like a -100% chance, but hey, you have to start some where. I’m also worried because if I did this, I would be pretty old by the time I started acting, but I think I’d still want to……
Good luck in your decision!
PS: What college are you going to?
