I’m making an original comedy i’ve been working on for the past year. For every one i’ve tried to organize for it: wants to work on it, than when it comes down to it the females flake out and the guys are ready. What’s going on here? All the actresses seem to be all about it, talk to them on many occasions about it and than nothing at showtime. Even my friends that are girls still flake out! Why? Help.

That’s odd that it is just the women, maybe your female characters could use a rewrite, you might be able to find a local casting director that can add it to their hotline for a fee of course, or post an ad on craig’s list, find all your local theatres and put flyers nearby.

PS it might be that you are advertising for non profit actors, non profit is a tax status for organizations, the industry phrase is non union, most actors expect to be paid something for their time, at least provide meals, copy and credit, i would not sign up for anything asking for a non-profit actor, because you sound too green for my caliber.
