Someone I know is writing a movie script that is GUARANTEED TO MAKE A LOT OF MONEY.. Dont ask how i know this. But I wanted to know if anyone knew how much movie scripts usually sell for if you were going to remain involved in the movie making? Or even how much to just buy the script and make it your own way?

Also what would really help would be how much people usually get if they are involved in the movie. Are there royalties or any other benifits of being involved in the movie opposed to just selling your script??

How much a script is usually sold is dependent on the idea of the movie and the screenwriter. Shane Black, hot off from writing the first Lethal Weapon movie sold his script, The Long Kiss Goodnight for then a record 3 million before the studio had a chance to read it whereas Quentin Tarantino’s first script for Reservoir Dogs sold for about $ 300,000.00.

Producers usually get a large piece of the movie pie because they are in charge of almost every aspect of the movie: casting, budgeting, financing, etc.
