How to Download Movies From the Internet Quickly
Ever wanted to download movies from the internet to watch in the comfort of your own home? I know I have. No more driving around for hours trying to find a parking space, queuing up for ages waiting for a ticket and then don’t even get me started about the price of popcorn and drinks! No, I prefer to download movies from the internet and watch them in front of my large TV with a glass of wine in my hand. So whats stopping you?
Well, for most people its because downloading movies from the internet is still way too slow. But here are some tips to get you downloading movies at lightning speed so you’ll never need to set foot outside your front door again – well you know what I mean.
1. Get a fast broadband connection. Bit of a no-brainer this one really. You can literally download movies twice as fast on an 8Mb
connection as you can on a 4Mb one. Buy the fastest connection you can afford – cable is even better that standard ADSL f its available in your area and you will no longer be a slave to the little blue bar.
2. Choose a fast download service. It’s no good having a super fast broadband connection – if you want to download movies from the internet your provider will have to cut the mustard when it comes to speed. There are literally hundreds of downloads sites to choose from but I have listed one you should really check out at the bottom of the page.
3. Tweak your connection. A little tweaking can really speed things up and I have been able to download movies up to 20% faster just by making some small changes to my computer. Most of these involve editing the registry – hey I forgot this only applies to Windows PC’s right – but you can get
software that does this for you. You can change settings for the TCP stack, network cards, bus speed and so on. None of these have a huge effect but combined together they can make a real difference.
4. Get a download accelerator. These bits of software really make the difference. My personal favourite is Flashget – you can find it on Google, but there are others like DAP and FileZilla. They make it a breeze to download movies because they support multiple simultaneous streams – that’s a bit like drinking a coke with 5 straws instead of one. They also allow you to resume downloads that have stopped so you don’t need to get to 99% and start all over again when the kids pull the phone socket out of the wall!
5. If you are after free movie downloads then get a torrent client – software like BitTorrent can be downloaded free of charge and is
simple to set up. If you don’t mind paying for the downloads then consider a binary newsserver site like easynews or giganews. Not only will you find thousands of movies to download here but they have speeds that can be as fast as 700K/sec
If you follow these tips then you should be able to download movies from the internet almost in real-time. In other words it should take about an hour –1 ½ hours to download an entire movie. Now that has to be better than driving to the cinema – at least at home I can just stumble up to my bed when the movie ends.
If you want to download movies then you can get a huge selection of them, as well as mp3’s and other files at this website http://newmoviedownloads.info
