My 8 year old daughter is obsessed with Justin Bieber. She talks about him all the time and she wants to meet him and give him a hug and kiss. I am bothered by this since she is only 8 years old and Justin is a teenager. At first I thought nothing of it then after she was only interested in making videos about Justin Bieber I was aware of her obsession with him. I decided that we will have to stop making videos about Justin Bieber until her obsession is over. I also have decided that her JB posters had to come off her walls until she can goweek without talking about kissing and hugging and marrying him. She was talking too much about him at school and saying that he is cute and she wants to date him. I do not want her obsession to interfere with her daily life and this includes while in school. It has been almost a week since I have taken the posters down and allowed her to make a Justin Bieber video. She has been doing much better and she seems much more herself and happier. She was actually starting to act older than her own age which was a conern for me and I happy to see her becoming herself once again and she has been looking back at this and taking it well. She has even thanked me for doing this because she has realized it was interfering with her school work and homework.
