How can I make my 15 minute video (made by movie maker) smaller so it would be easier and faster to upload it to youtube ?

You can convert the videos you use in your projects to smaller frame sizes. Most decent converters give size (resolution) options and some let you made custom profiles/presets where you can type in the frame size you want. You don’t want to change the size or compression of your videos too much because it will destroy their quality. With videos, going smaller is trading quality for less time.
My “trick” is to wait until I have to be busy doing something away from the computer to Publish in Movie Maker and to upload to YouTube. I get the process going and then walk away. If I had to sit here and wait for it to finish, I’d go nuts;-) It also helps to not have the computer doing any other “heavy lifting” while publishing or uploading videos. No streaming TV or music. No IMing. Etc. This gives the computer all the resources it needs to do the video job.
