How to screencap a video?

Question by Lidocaine Lolly: How to screencap a video?
I want to make a .gif icon, and just doing print screen (or ctrl+i in WMP) one by one takes FOREVER! I was wondering if anyone knows a good FREE program that just caps the vid for you? And if not, is it maybe possible to make an animated icon (compatible with forums, LJ, etc) in Windows Movie Maker by clipping the vid?
With powerDVD… can you make screencaps from a file on your computer, or does it have to be a physical dvd to do that?

You can use PowerDVD. You can download the free trial and screencap it that way. You have to pay after the first 30 days but you can get a LOT capped in a month so you should use that I think 🙂
