Santana Productions
In addition to being offered better, more diverse roles, he started his own production company in 1948, Santana Productions, named after his private sailing yacht. (Santana was also the name of the yacht featured in the 1948 film Key Largo). Jack Warner was reportedly furious at this, even though it was in Bogart’s contract, fearing that other stars would do the same and major studios would lose their power.
