Question by Rat: I REALLY could use some digital movie help!?
I am making a film for my final exam, and it’s being shot in .avi format. I think that is the only format that my camera can do. I planned to edit the movie on Windows Movie Maker, but that has become rather problematic.
First of all, WMM won’t open my file because it isn’t in WMM format. How can I get WMM to open my movie file?
Second, the version of WMM currently on my computer is not what I have used in the past; it is a newer version but it has far fewer features. I do not remember updating the programme… is there any way to get the past version back? And if not, is WMM version 1.1.2427.1 totally incapable of doing special effects and transitions?

I would give up on WMM, go spend $ 99 and get yourself something Adobe Premiere Elements… It’s much more powerful and can easily handle AVI files.
