Is the credibility of Christian (OK some Christian) dialogue at risk?
Question by roccopaperiello: Is the credibility of Christian (OK some Christian) dialogue at risk?
There are certainly many “moral” issues and problems currently facing Christians and the Christian community. (And all communities).
Like poverty, homeless children, child abuse, spousal abuse, rampant drug problems and selling of dangerous drugs to minors, not to mention the 50% divorce rate and extreme disregard of commitment and self-giving in intimate relationships.
Yet it would seem that on this forum, gay marriage — an issue in fact involving people who only WANT love, commitment, and self-giving in their sexual and intimate relationships — seems to take center stage. And one would think — from seeing all the script here concerning this issue — about the most important religious issue now at hand.
Is this a really the most important issue we (and Christians) believe we are faced with?
Should our churches spend so much of their limited resources “fighting” gay marriage, when so many more important issues are at hand?
I would invite answers from those with opposing opinions.
Thank you ANDY. I too tend to get polarized.

Right on.
Some Christians want the world the way it was rather than the way it is and that way they can keep their heads in the sand and worship a in an bibliolatrous fashion rather than the way the Bible calls us to.
