Makeing a movie trailer…help?

For my english project, I have to make a movie trailer. Are there any good movie editing sophware that you would reccomend? I would need to do voice overs, background music etc. Are there any microphones that could clip on to clopthing to enhance sound for a non professional camcorder? Are there any tutorials to help?

“Good” movie editors typically cost… Windows comes bundled with MovieMaker; iMovie comes with Macintoshes.

For audio capture and editing, I occasionally use Audacity.

For mics… many consumer camcorders do not have a mic-in jack. Before going down the mic path, it would be more productive if you can tell us what camcorder you are using – then we can determine if it has a mic-in jack… then we can discuss mics.
