Making indi movie and want to add a certain effect?

Question by crackerjack: Making indi movie and want to add a certain effect?
I am making a movie about first year experiences in university, and want to put in this effect; a miter saw that can slide back and forth is in the back position and is in on a small incline, and a kid turns a knob by accident and it slides down whacks him in the face. I need advice on camera tricks and editing and such that will make it look the most realistic.
Thanks!

Use an optical illusion. Use a shadow of him getting hit. And plenty of realistic sound effects which are easy to make.
Hint: The less we see, the more believable it is.
