Movie Making?

Question by Luke S: Movie Making?
Me and my friend’s like to make movies and i was wondering what type of mic would be the best, something cheap but still pretty good. Mabey something that will work easily with my camera, i have a Casio Ex-s770. Any other tips would be nice.

I would go with a Unidirectional mic, as you can concentrate on what you’re capturing without the external noises. Background noises can ruin a scene.

If possible, try finding a store that rents boom mics. Audio-Technica ATR25 is pretty decent.

Be sure to keep a distance from the camera and mic, as you don’t want to pick up the camera’s noise or other distractions from the cameraman.

I normally shoot in a controlled enviornment so I haven’t ran into too many problems with shooting.
