Was Live action movie/show, took us a week to watch the whole thing like an hour each. These people (i think in the future) are invaded by aliens and get locked or hide in a large library. They use the information in the library to make a weapon to escapre or beat the aliens. They had to learn how to use the dewey decimal system to figure out how the library was organized. I asked before but no answers were what im looking for

Yes I know the one you are taking about. It was shown in school in the 80’s. It is called Tomes and Talismans.
Composed of thirteen 20 minutes episode and created by Mississippi Public Broadcasting (which is basically PBS), this show from 1986 teaches library and research concepts to kids, like the dewey decimal system we all learned about in school. Well, those of us fortunate enough to have gone to school. Anyways, I was contacted about this last week and just got my review copies yesterday, and I’d thought I’d announce it as it has that retro PA coolness factor along with some really terrible acting. Unfortunately I don’t have a good trailer, but there is some footage from a vhs copy after the break, and on a side note, it will be available on iTunes! Where does the post apocalyptic aspect come in? Do tell, and we will, after the break.
“In 2123 humanity is evacuating Earth for the White Crystal Solar System, due to an attack carried out by the nefarious Wiper race, a group of aliens that appear to be little more than run-of-the-mill trailer trash. A special group is preparing a complete library of all Human knowledge which is hidden underground. Here, all fiction and non-fiction books are sorted by an alphabetical and numerical ordering system but an important volume is missing. A desperate search for it begins in the library in the outskirts of the city. The library team leader Ms. Bookhart, played by Niki Wood, is stranded in her bookmobile and is suddenly metabolically suspended for 100 years by a being known only as “The Universal Being”. She awakens in a world under the control of beings known as “The Wipers” and is discovered by another group of extraterrestrials in the form of four children known as “The Users”. The children, along with Ms. Bookhart, rediscover the hidden library and in the course of the series she teaches them how to use it. In turn, they discover how to defeat “The Wipers” and create a communicator to call the Human refugees back to Earth.”
