Hi;

I am brand new to making movies. This camera says MP4. I tried to view it in Windows Movie Maker but it says it does not accept this file format.

Any ideas to help me get started?

Do I update windows movie maker?
Do I have to but some software?

There are 2 options:
a. Stick to WMMaker – convert MPEG files to AVI or WMV which are supported by WMM. Try to download Windows Media Encoder from the Microsoft website
b. Use other video editing programmes that directly support MPEG .. Pinnacle Studio or Ulead possibly.
