Question by Dr. Gonzo: ok. I Give up, How do I import a video to Windows movie maker?
says I don’t have the codec to load the AVI.
just for reference. I have checked almost every other question regarding this same manner on here. downloaded all these codec packs that people were talking about and so far nothing has worked.
Actually a couple seemed like they just made things worse making the program crash.
My daughters project for school is due Monday and I can even get the Video on the Windows Movie Maker to edit it.
Can someone bail me out here please.
And I did set the Tools, Options, etc… and set it to download codec automatically and it didn’t.
So I am at a stand still. I have to have this done today.
I have Windows XP and I do not have a bad copy of Windows Movie Maker

If you have windows vista your out of luck…..
The good news is if you have XP no codecs are needed.
Instructions-
Save the video in the My Videos folder.
Then select import then wherever your file is located.
If all else fails
You might have a bad copy of movie maker
