I am making my own how-to video / movie. Any pointers? How do I pick locations? What SHOULDN’T I do?

If I was going to hire someone to do ONE thing for the video, what would it be?

Things to remember when I am in front of the camera?
Best colors for clothes on camera?
Tips for hair or make-up on camera?
Back drop colors?
How to transition between indoor and outdoor or changed locations scenes?

dun look at the camera
get a tripod, unless u want a shakey movie
