Question by Beth: Problem with Windows Movie Maker?…..?
I am in the process of making a video on Windows Movie Maker, but every so often when I go to open the program, it doesn’t open. Another window pops up saying, “Another user on this computer is using Windows Movie Maker. Please close the other program and try again.” Get this: My computer is a laptop, and the default user is the only user this computer has. No other Movie Maker program is open. How do I fix this?

Just check, dear lady, that you don’t have another occurrence of Windows Movie Maker running.

Hold down Ctrl+Alt+Del. This will call up the Task Manager dialog box.

Select the Processes Tab, and then look for moviemk.exe

If it’s there, highlight it by clicking once on it, then click on End Process at the bottom right hand corner of that dialog box.

Then try restarting Windows Movie Maker.
