Q&A: Best Movie editing software?

I’m making a movie this summer and I need to know which software would be best for it. I have 5 different softwares now, Windows Movie Maker, Digital Blue, Roxio Video Wave 7, iMovie HD, and Final Cut Pro. I have both a Mac and a Windows so any software that i need can be named.
Also I am well experienced at Windows Movie Maker and Final Cut Pro, though ive only used Roxio Video Wave 7 once and I havent used iMovie HD at all

Depends on how experienced you are at editing, the best video editing programs are Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premiere Pro. They both run similar but they both somewhat of a learning curve if you never used them before. They are the standard for professionals, however, you can try Imovie for simple things the rest of the ones on your list don’t give you much control.
