Q&A: Best video camera for making a bodyboarding movie?
Question by JG: Best video camera for making a bodyboarding movie?
I’m making a bodyboarding movie.
i would like a camera with 3ccd, preferably a high definition camera if it is under the 1200 price.
I need atleast 30x zoom. but if theres a good camera with less, i could always buy a seperate lens.
I want a camera that has really good quality. good enough to make a bodyboarding movie, put on dvd’s and sell to bodyboarders etc.
I’m not too fussed about whether it has a hard drive or tape either way is good.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
Just looking for any particular brands and types and stuff.
thankyou

There are several “waterproof” Panasonic and Sanyo camcorders you probably want to review. This will allow you to record from within the water without any extra protection, and if you drop your camera, no worries!
Go to a general shopping website like Amazon and search for ‘waterproof camcorder’ or ‘waterproof camcorders’ . Any one you choose will meet your requirements
All of them use internal flash memory which has no moving parts to break as compared to the hard disc drive (HDD) with lots of moving parts to fail. Also, if water finds a way into these cameras, they are more likely to survive versus an HDD camcorder.
* One last thing. If you are burning these movies to standard DVDs, the final movie on the DVDs will be in SD. Most of these waterproof camcorders record in SD quality, and a few have HD recording capability. Either way, with the final result being an SD video on DVD, any of the cameras you choose will do the job.
*** Also be sure to get an HD capable video editing program if you are using Windows with your HD camcorder. iMovie on a Mac is already HD capable. You will also want to get a second hard drive. It can be an internal for a desktop, or an eternal for laptops and desktops. 500gb USB models are available for $ 100
