Hi everybody
My name is mickael, i’m french (i don’t live in USA for now, i live in Mexico) and i’m 28.
I’m passionate by cinema.
I write some movie script and i dream to become a director (and obviously to sell one day my scripts) but i’m also very interested in being actor.
The problem is that i don’t think it’s very compatible with who i am and i would like to have some opinions (don’t hesitate to be rough if it’s necessary, i prefer the truth)
Here’s what i am:
*shy (i used to be very shy, now i’m just shy with people i don’t know (in shop, at the bank etc.) and discrete…And some of red cheeks when i’m getting shy (i guess it’s ugly). And honestly, i think i would be very stressed (maybe petrified? hehe) for auditions and then on stage if i have a chance to have a role
*i have quite about opinion about myself, physically talking. For me i’m ugly. And well, what i see on photos or little movies is pathetic (still phisically talking) i’m aboslutely not photogenic and “moviegenic” (don’t know if this word exists), i think my smile and my body generally is ugly… but at the same time i’m not “enough ugly” to be considered as a “face” (you know, the persons hired because they have a special face (in the sense they are really really not very pretty) you know what i mean? Well i’m physically ugly/average “lambda” but really not photogenic and moviegenic etc. (ouch)
*i am afraid to be very stressed by scenes, no matter with who i could play. And very affraid to disapoint the director, the staff and maybe the actos/tress and also afraid of kissing or “more” scenes (not really confortable with that, well at least the last one)
* There is millions of people who want to be actor/tress and i don’t feel better than the other
*i probably have an accent due to the fact that i’m french (but not the wierd accent the pretented french people take in movies/TV shows to make people understand they are french. But well i can work on my accent obviously and my english in general.
*about my physical i’m 6.4.4″ (1m94) for 90kilos and have a mix of sliim/normal/athletic body (it depends on what i ate at lunch hehe, that’s a joke), i have dark blonde hairs, very short (and lost some so i have the hair kind of like jason statham but a little more actually (it’s hard to explain) and i have blue eyes.
*last important things, to achieve everything: i never took classes of acting.
I can imagine the answer, but i like different point of view, because maybe people like me succeeded in becoming actors, who knows.

raina > the problem is that when i sum all my “elements” it appears to be impossible, which doesn’t mean i wouldn’t like it to be possible (au contraire).
The thing is also that i live in mexico and that it’s hard to pay a trip so when i’ll pay my trip it would be to pass auditions (one day translated in english i hope) , but you know with the thousands and thousands of people whom wants to makes this job, the few chosen, and the fact that as you saw in my description it’s kind of “complicated” to think i can have the same chances as the other one (mainly because i really really don”t look good on movies and photos)…so if there is really no chance for me due to who i am it would be better for me to save me. If i have same chances as anybody (i don’t think) even with what i told, i’ll give a try, we just have one life 🙂 At worst, i’ll just be ridiculous and laugh about it in years.
slycat > thanks for your message 🙂 I want to be it, but the fact that photos and movies don’t like me is a big problem don”t you think? I consider myself between average and not very good looking in real life, but when i see myself on photos and movies i am ashamed and find myself absolutely hidious :s
So yes, i really want, but this problem seem to be a big problem :s

To be honest, it kind of sounds like you’re trying to convince yourself and everyone else that you can’t. You’d have better luck if you put forth a more positive attitude.
