Question by jay: How can I make the movie longer on my Camera?
I have an Olympus D-580 camera. I was wondering how/if I can make the movie capture longer. Right now it’s at 2:04 min. Can I make it any longer? If not…why?
PS: I have a 256 MB card in. Does that effect it? (movie capture)

Yes, of course, the length of your movies is dependent on the capacity of your memory card.
But, if you already have photos stored on the card, then your movie size will be limited.
I would guess that you already have photos on the card because you should get more than 2 minutes of movies on a 256MB card because your camera’s movies are of a fairly low resolution of 320X240 at 15fps.
You either need to make sure the card is completely blank before you shoot movies…or just buy a larger xD card.
Remember to always format a brand new card first and regularly after that…but make sure you download all photos and movies to your PC first, because formatting will permanently delete everything on the card.
