I’m really confused. I want to make videos like machinema and like gmod idiot box. How do I make them talk and walk and whatnot.

You can record your videos using any software you wish, eg: Fraps.
Making them talk is more complicated, you can use the in-game face poser to ‘mould’ their mouths into the positions they would be when they say the words.
