Question by Ed G: how to light a dark place at night for a movie with a zero dollar budget.?
im making a student movie, one scene takes place on a golf course at night. it is way too dark. all we have is a bunch of flash lights and were having trouble picking up the characters. any tips to how we can get better lighting with only about 8 flash lights? also, can we make it brighter in editing? were using Sony Vegas for editing.

Turn up the gain on the camera. It will degrade the quality though. Using bounce boards (mirrors or light colored posterboard to bounce light at a surface) might help too, but probably not much. flashlights simply won’t cut it to light a scene. They are too directional and not powerful.
