by later time, i mean like, start in the year 2000, with all the technologies up until that point. i hate starting off in 1950 with nothing but junk, and not being able to delete anything that i have an upgraded version of. (ex: i put a row of trailers, then almost instantly i had better versions, but could not get rid of the existing ones. then, after taking up more space, i got more, better ones that i couldn’t make room for, and thus had to use up even more extra space. i also wanted to make like a gladiator movie, or something like a medieval or ancient war movie, with some extras that i cloned in post production or something like that. i really want to have really good technology and accommodations and such starting out so i dont have to waste time on a movie that will turn out horrible. i take up to 2.5-3.5 hours making my own movies, and i cannot make them the way i would like starting out. or maybe is there something i can do where i just hire scientists and janitors, then have some people make scripts, sell them, and use that money to pay wages until i am at a tech level i like? or would that backfire on me and totally waste my time? thanks a bunch for the help.

Try this. It might have something to do with what you want…
More decades to choose from in ‘Sandbox’ Mode
This will let you choose from either; 1930, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 2000 at the start of Sandbox mode.
1. Click ‘Start’ and then ‘Run’
2. Type in ‘regedit’ (just the text)
3. Click on the names in this order; HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lionhead Studios Ltd\TheMovies
4. Once you’ve gone to ‘The Movies’, double click on ‘Allow Any Decade’
5. In the ‘Value Data’ box, change the ‘0’ to a ‘1’ and then press ‘OK’
6. Close the window, start ‘The Movies’ and enjoy
BTW, don’t screw around in the Regestry Editor because it can screw up different things
Every item unlocked in sandbox mode!
This small edit will allow you to start in the year 2000, and every item unlocked.
1. Open a folder, any folder, and go to:
“Tools > Folder Options”
2. Click the View tab
3. Scroll down to “Hidden files and Folder, then select Show Hidden Files and Folders
4. Now go to:
“C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Lionhead Studios\The Movies
(Replace YOURNAME with the name you use on Windows”
5. Open the UNLOCKING file.
6. Delete everything in the folder
7. Copy and paste the quoted part (REMOVE THE QUOTES!):
