Q&A: is there some kind of equipment that can turn what i play into sheet music?

Question by Evan: is there some kind of equipment that can turn what i play into sheet music?
So I play snare drum and want to know if there is something that I can buy that could write out something that I make up. Say I just play something completely off of the top of my head, can some kind of software print it out into legitimate music? I think i saw something like this on the movie Drumline.

A very simple way to do it would be recording Midi from an electric drumset if you are open to doing that.
