Q&A: visual basics program 2005 version?

Well i just downloaded it yesterday. And dont know were to start. I want to make a program that plays music and movie files. Basicly a media player. Then i want to move on to somthing bigger, Can someone help me on how to create a program. Or tell me how to create a program in visual basics.

That may be a big project to start with itself, I have never made a music/video player but if you do a search on http://pscode.com, there is a lot of source code on that site that could help out or put you in the right direction.
