Question by Planck Epoch: What did Christians and Atheists alike think of the movie Contact (1997)?
I watched Contact for the first time today and I thought it was such an excellent movie. I was however, a little bummed about the actual meeting with the other intelligent life. But I know it is hard to creatively and believably make up an intelligent alien encounter, when it is something our limited minds have trouble imagining. I loved the worm hole space flight scene with the translucent space craft she was in. Awesome movie…your thoughts?

Also I would like to mention the fact that the movie sheds to light how Atheists are discriminated against by many for their views on religion and God.
