Well, the music is VERY important for any movie. It has been called the other character in the movie.
Think of all the great movies that are famous for their score:
Jaws
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Star Wars
You can play any piece from any of these movies and people will automatically know that piece even if they may not necessarily know the movie.
