I want a camera that’s under $ 600, has the movie-making necessities such as a mic input and the ability to record HD video. I’m an amateur movie maker and I’m sick of using an old camera that uses DV tapes… Can someone give me a suggestion?

Yes, it records on miniDV tapes but in HD or SD. Using miniDV tapes is the optimal way of capturing video into a nonlinear video editor.
