you gave it up so quickly,
so you start to crumble down.
and should you rest your eyes,
for the ceiling bares no answers.
the floorboards cold against your cheek,
as burning tears stroll down reluctantly.

you would swallow your pride,
but you’re afraid to choke.
you would start a fresh page,
but you’ve misplaced your book.
you’ve got nothing left to tell,
this author’s got nothing left to sell.

never did you see this coming,
as it was never in the script.
what comes your way remains unknown,
and there’s so much time left to grow.

fear may be untouchable,
but does it know you’re in control?
the answer isn’t hard to find,
you’ve had it in your heart & mind.

so you push yourself up slowly,
cus only gravity can keep you down.
