I watched this film for the first time on Friday and fell in love with it. This is basically a movie overview, focused slightly on the relationship between Vincent and Roseanne. [QUOTES] #1- Vincent: “I knew she was dying. And when the time came, I would try and rescue her” #2- Roseanne: “I’m scared all the time” Vincent: “Everything will turn out alright” Roseanne: “When?” [SPOILER DESCRIPTION OF THE FILM] “Crime and Punishment in Suburbia” centers around Roseanne Skolnick who, after her mother is unfaithful, is raped by her step-father. Roseanne, deeply affected by what has happened to her, somehow convinces her boyfriend Jimmy to help her exact revenge. The guilt that follows is overpowering and she turns to the only person who can truly understand her pain- her stalker, Vincent. It sounds kind of riddiculous, I admit, but it was such a compelling movie about the aftermath of rape and the act of revenge. Plus the relationship between Vincent and Roseanne was actually kind of beautiful (that and Monica Keena and Vincent Karthieser have incredible chemistry).
