The Last Vampire on Earth Premieres
The Main Street Theater in Columbiana played host to the first screening and Red Carpet event for the feature film, “The Last Vampire on Earth. The movie was shot in the Valley last summer and the movie’s director and producer said he didn’t have a hard time deciding where to shoot. “When I saw the trees, the park and everything, it was like beautiful, and I said ‘Wow, this is the perfect place,’ said director and producer Vitaliy Versace. Versace also got help from casting director Linda Weaver, President of LeModeln Inc. In Boardman. “Most of the talent, when they auditioned, the talent were from the Youngstown area, so we were able to entice them to come here and shoot,” said Weaver. The main female character “Chloe, played by 15-year old McKenzie Grimmett of Cortland, said it was a great experience being able to shoot a movie in her home town. “It was a lot of fun, because a lot of the places–it was like seeing an actual Youngstown movie,” said Grimmett. “And it’s like, wow ya know, this is actually a movie town!” said Grimmett. The story centers around the characters Chloe and Aurelius, two college students with nothing in common–except they both have a secret. The director said he had so much fun shooting the movie in the Valley, he plans on coming back. “I’m gonna shoot probably 5 to 10 films here,” said Versace. “I have scripts already and we started doing castings.” The director said he’s trying to sell the movie to a major studio, and he’ll let them decide if …
