Following are a series of 5 tricks to use while searching Google:
1. Search a specific site for your phrase/query
Type the following in the Google search box: phrase site:name.com (ex: CS5 Serial Number site:cs5serialnumber.com
This sill search the specific phrase you are looking
for solely on the site you want. The way this comes into play when you are looking for serial numbers, and going to find the CS5 serial number and/or Photoshop software for free, is to type the following into Google:
adobe photoshop cs5 site:mediafire.com
This uses techniques gathered from several posts on this site, so be sure to read the informative article on media hosting site as well, as mediafire.com is a commonly used media hosting site. Other sites include rapidshare.com, megaupload.com, uploading.com and hotfile.com.
2. Change up your search term slightly to yield more results
Instead of just typing “photoshop cs5 site:mediafire.com”, you should search several times, each time changing the term and the site being searched. For example, you should search the following when trying to find the photoshop files (of course, this is simply one of
the many ways to find it; using the forums is always my personal first choice):
“photoshop cs5.rar site:rapidshare.com, photoshopcs5.rar site:rapidshare.com, adobephotoshopcs5.rar site:megaupload.com, photoshop site:mediafire.com, etc.”
This also applies to when you are searching for basic information on Google. When trying to search for music songs, instead of typing “artist – song name free download”, try the following:
“artist – song name download blog” – this will add the search term “blog” to the search, pulling up many music blog results which often time have the link to download the song
“artist – song name download kbps” – this will add the search term “kbps” which is the measurement of quality for a song, which will then in term help specify your search results to actual songs and song descriptions, rather than useless
spam.
Using techniques such as modifying your phrases (altering the phrase “where to find cheap adobe software” to “cheap adobe software resources” or “cheap adobe software forums and blogs” may yield higher results. It is always helpful to try different ways to reach your destination, as it will often times become easier to find.
3. Searching for a specific filetype
Searching for a specific filetype is also very important when trying to find software. Of course, you can just visit a forum, but the more knowledge and techniques you have at your fingertips, the more web-savvy you become.
To search for Adobe Illustrator CS5, you would want to try typing this in Google:
“Adobe Illustrator CS5 filetype:rar” – this will return results that will all be .rar, which is usually the filetype for downloaded software.
There are many other ways to
improve your ability to search Google, and a quick search for “google search tips and tricks” will yield many results on just that.
