There’s this one film where a model (I think it’s Phoebe Cates) is in this body cast because her modeling agency wants to make a copy or mannequin of her. She only has these two straws to breathe out of and she eventually can’t take it anymore.

I think it’s “Bright Lights, Big City.” Phoebe Cates played a model who was Michael J. Fox’s wife. If memory serves, she was having a plaster cast made of her face and had a moment of claustrophobia during which Michael J. Fox held her hand and calmed her down.

EDIT: Just checked the DVD (which I didn’t realize I actually had on my shelf) and that’s the right movie. It’s a flashback scene about halfway through the movie.
