Question by rightisright: Title of Movie: Girl dies & has to help her dead father get to Heaven?
What is the name of this movie?
It starts out with her as young child who gets rescued by her friend who only she can see and hear, who picks her up and saves her from being hit by a car.
Then you see her as a teenager at a party where some guy poisons her drink and she dies.
After death she sees her friend from childhood who tries to guide her to a permanently safe place from these soul eating creatures that can’t get her as long as her light from just having been alive, lasts.
In about an hour or so, the light will be gone and dissipated and she will be vulnerable to attack from these things.
When someone else dies they also bring in some light for awhile but the light goes with the newly dead person so when one dies and his body is taken to the hospital it leaves the house where the girl is.
She finds out her father has had his soul “eaten” and has become one of these creatures and she wants to save him and bring his soul to Heaven with her, once she figures out how to get there.
Her childhood friend seems a bit suspicious and uncaring about her friend who is still alive and at the party and about to be poisoned to death like she was.
It turns out that the childhood friend is the head of these soul eating creatures and wants to ‘save her’ from the other for himself.
He is some kind of connoisseur who cultivates people to have certain life experiences which makes their souls ‘taste’ much better and ‘sweeter’ to him and he keeps them in a cramped room where they stay forever and he just keeps feeding off of them while they just languish and suffer for eternity.
But she has to be willing to go into that room and she refuses especially once she realizes what he really is.
She makes a deal to go into his holding room and be trapped forever if he will free her fathers soul.
Once he frees her father she finds the shaft leading up to Heaven and gets her father into it and rushes in after him.
This head soul eater, chases after her but can’t stand the light coming from above so he can’t follow very far and she barely escapes his grasp.
This movie was on the Sci Fi channel a few years ago and has been shown on there a few times since then.
I think it has also been shown on the Chiller Channel.
I do not know if the Sci Fi (or SY FY as it is now called, not sure which it was, when they first showed this movie) channel was the one to make this movie but that is where I first saw it.
I cannot find out anything about this movie or even remember the title.
Does anyone else remember this movie?
Does anyone remember the title, what is the name of the movie, please?

The description of the movie sounds like Left in Darkness (2006).
A life forged in tragedy leads to an afterlife filled with darkness as a young girl journeys through purgatory in search of salvation in director Stephen J. Cannell’s supernatural tale of terror. Celia (Monica Keena)’s mother died during childbirth, and her father disappeared shortly thereafter. Though her grandparents raised the young girl to their best of their abilities, Celia’s grim fate was sealed as soon as she exited the womb. Drugged, raped, and killed by an accidental overdose on the night of her twenty-first birthday, Celia is about to discover that death is only the beginning for the unfortunate souls who neglected to seek salvation in life. Now Celia is trapped in a menacing netherworld land somewhere between salvation and damnation, and in order to reach the light she’s going to have to make her way through a world populated by the demonic Soul Eaters and malevolent entities. As the spirit of her recently deceased grandfather (Tim Thomerson) attempts to lure her into an infernal underworld and her guardian angel (David Anders) tries to lead her safely to the other side, Celia will be forced to make a decision that will ultimately define the fate of her eternal soul.
