Question by : what are peoples views on directors making movies based off of video games?
been watching a lot of movies back from the 90s that are based off of video games that i love (and still play to this day) and am wondering what is your view on this? its not just video games, but comics as well (mostly marvel). im a massive fan of street fighter, ever since the second edition, and while the live-action film makes me laugh my azz off, they completely ignored the original storyline. i can say the same thing for the resident evil films (alice??you kiddin me? why the hell did they decide to base a film around a character who wasnt even in the damn game??), mortal kombat films and basically any others..
my main complaint is about all these games that originated in japan but now america is trying to making money off them by making a movie and changing the whole damn concept into what they see. it really pisses me off seeing legendary games like the street fighter and resident evil series getting made into bull**** movies because hollywood wants to add their 2 cents in.
i came up with this question because i just learned that onimusha (a capcom-best selling game) is being transferred into a movie with paramount pictures announcing its joint venture to adapt it into a live-action film. coming from america myself, i really wish the u.s. would stop making these classic video games into films, especially if it comes from japan. it really pisses me off how these movies are sh1tted on.

TOTALLY AGREE! I think that America should get some originality, I mean, they’re ruining our favourite characters!
