Question by : What chemical, powdered or liquid, can make water boil on contact or steam?
In the movie, The Devils Advocate, the devil places his finger into holy water and it begins to steam and boil. How may i achieve this with a simple glass of water? Chemicals? how?
I want to be able to put a powder on my finger and when i touch water it will sizzle.

The “boiling water” trick is often accomplished by adding dry ice ( solid CO2) to the water. The dry ice must be weighted so that it sinks.This causes a lot of bubbling and turbulence in the water and also liberates some vapours. This can be mistaken for boiling
