Chapter 1
” As you all know 5 to the power of two is 25 and also that…blahblahblah”
I hate school. My name is John Roberts. I am in 8th grade and I go to a boarding school called Wilcox Academy. I know, stupid name, but I didn’t come up with it. I was in math class with Ms. Angus teaching us. Let me tell you something. You might tell me, your teacher is so boring, but believe me, the only reason she is a math teacher, is because she was there when numbers were created. Anyway, here at Wilcox I have a big group of friends. There are 12 of them not including me. Let me tell you about them. Let’s start off with Nick Smith. He is so sly, he is the best spier I know, heck, if I didn’t tell him all my secrets, I wouldn’t be able to tell them to anyone else because I’d be afraid he was watching me. Sometimes I wonder how he gets all the money to buy all of his gadgets and tools and things. It’s as if he owns a spy shop. Ok next I’m going to talk about the coolest girl I know, Kennedy Roberts. She is so cool and sporty, sometimes it’s just like you are hanging out with your best friend that’s a guy when you are hanging out with her. Next is Eliza Depp, this is strongest girl.. Scratch that.. Strongest person, I know. She’s beaten everyone in my homeroom at arm wrestling. And I heard, in her old school, she sent a kid to the hospital because he said Johnny Depp was stupid. Next is Stephen Johnson, he is the funniest kid I know and he is the only one who can be a fair match for Eliza in a fight. But he wouldn’t hurt a fly so that skill doesn’t really apply to him yet. Next is Max Davis. He is kind of just a normal kid who is great at airsoft BB gun wars. Which sucks for him because no sorts of guns are allowed at Wilcox. But there is a shooting class for 8th graders and they have all sorts of guns there, but they are kept locked up in a wooden shed which really isn’t safe because people could break in there very easily. But Max has a stash of BB guns under his bed. Next there is Enzien who absolutely LOVES horror movies. He knows about every single type of monster there is. Next is Carly Anderson who is so nice but if you do something to her she can hold a big grudge against you. Next is Ethan Taylor who is the sportiest kid I know. He is also so cool; all of the girls think he’s so dreamy and cool. He is one of the popular kids in the school and I am one of his best friends. He does baseball. Basketball, football, wrestling, boxing, snowboarding, lacrosse, hockey, soccer, you name it he does it. Next is Brendan Moore who is really short but man is he awesome. He would do anything to protect his friends. Next is Kimmie Callahan who is a model and she can be a brat but can be nice. And then we have Noah Logan; he is really funny and is a leader, not follower. And then finally there is Ellery Harris, she has been our best friend and in fact, she was the one who got us all together, Ellery was the smartest and had the best grades.
School was over and we were all hanging out in my dorm. My roommate is Nick. We were all discussing what Ellery should do that night. You see, if you have an A+ average for one whole year, then you get a free pass where one night of your choice, you get to go do something. Ellery had gotten that award so we thought we would help her decide where to go.
” You could go do laser tag” Kimmie suggested
” Nah. That’s no fun when I don’t know the other people,” Ellery said
“How about the fair” Carly said, ” Tonight is the closing night.”
” Eww. I hate the smell of horses”
” I have an idea. How about you go to the new haunted hayride over by the mall. No one ever goes to it but it seems really good, plus Halloween is in two days and you love getting scared.”
” Oh my god John you are a genius. I’ll do that.”
” Ya, it seems cool.” I said, ” Ok we should all get ready for dinner. You guys should go back to your dorms.”
After everyone left Nick said “Ellery’s gonna have fun tonight”
“Ya, I feel bad for Enzien though, he loves that kind of stuff.”
” Ya we should probably head down to the kitchen. Remember? We have to do kitchen duty for a week because you pulled the fire alarm.”
” Oh ya, Hahha, good times, good times.”
After dinner, the school chauffer drove Ellery to the hayride and we all wished her a good time, and then went to bed.

It’s not a good idea to pour story online for all to read until you get it published cause people can steal it so….
Take it from a fellow writer , people are sometimes thieves. 🙂
