What is the best consumer grade video editing software on the market?
Question by ThatFreakinRandy: What is the best consumer grade video editing software on the market?
Hi! I am transitioning from PC to Mac and need advice as to what video editing software I should buy. I currently have Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 which is incompatible with Mac OS X.
I’m am thinking of things such as Adobe Premier Elements or Final Cut Express. Things that can be bought at an electronics store for a reasonable price, you know?
I’m torn on what to buy because I am hearing pros and cons of everything, and need a real justification. So here is my question: what consumer grade, reasonably priced ($ 100 – $ 500) video editing software should I get for my macbook? What makes it so good? What are it’s flaws?

*gasp* your getting a mac?!? ): im gonna miss those videos. Okay, well I think you should get what Juliet has. (: The iMovie from ’06. My dad downloaded it for me for free. And its awesome! Its the same as Juliet’s so yeah…I have an iMac (got it, because Juliet inspired me. ;)) and I think iMovie is just awesome. I’m still figuring it out…but yeah. Its good and free :). There is another that I hear is very good…I think its called Premiere. I don’t have it yet, I’m getting it soon, but I hear its good. It comes with Premiere Elements I think. Idk. Just make sure you get the iMovie from ’06!! lol. And yes I think the Adobe Premier Elements is good…which I kind of already said. lol
