What is the Best Type of DV camera to shoot a real, full-length professional feature film?
Question by Dan E: What is the Best Type of DV camera to shoot a real, full-length professional feature film?
I have been looking on wikipedia at some dv cams that professional filmmakers have been using to shoot some of their films. Steven Soderbergh shot “Full Frontal” with a Canon XL2. Danny Boyle shot “28 Days Later” on a Canon XL1S. Spike Lee shot “Bamboozled” on a Sony VX-1000. David Lynch shot “Inland Empire” on a Sony DSR-PD150. The list goes on. I know that there’s an affordable camera out there that will make it possible for me to shoot my movie and get it distributed. I was thinking of getting a Panasonic DVX100 and adding a Letus35mm adaptor. Is that a good idea for a real movie? Please…what is THE BEST DV CAM TO SHOOT A PROFESSIONAL MOVIE ON?

You’ve mentioned 4 cameras that have been used to good effect and, as you say, the list goes on. That suggests there is no “best camera” – only what you’re comfortable using.
