Question by XE7EN: What kinds of (super)computers and programs do Square-Enix and Pixar use to create their CG movies?
I tried asking several search engines this same question, but i don’t believe these next-gen computers are smart enough to understand human intuition. I’m wondering what types of hardware and software professional companies, like Square-Enix and Pixar, use to create their CG movies. I mean, i already know what the fastest, and most powerful supercomputer is, but i don’t want to buy one of those Roadrunners just to make a nice movie clip; and i think Square and Pixar should let us know what they use, even if it’s custom-developed (meaning i’ll never be able to use it, but at least i’ll know what it is).
Any help on this?

They don’t. They use regular PCs, they just gang them together in really huge arrays. I read about this particularly with the Final Fantasy Spirits Within movie.
