Question by austino: what major should i choose in college to make the computer generated effects of movies such as avatar?
i am not sure whether computer science or software engineering or something like that would be accepted for a job in making the computer generated effects of movies such as avatar, avatar the last airbender, the sorcerers apprentice, etc. does anyone have any info, tips or advice for this subject? i know its done with green screen and that interests me alot but i want to be the person making the backround of the green screen. any info is much appreciated.

That depends on what sort of a role you’re talking about.

Major in computer science, computer engineering (with lots of emphasis on math) if you want to work on developing the tools for making such animations.

Major in art or film if you want to use those tools to create movies like that.
