Question by has: why cats don´t want to hunt/chase mouse anymore ?
I´ve never seen a cat hunting mouse in my entire life except in movie. I´ve seen cat chasing bird, small snake but not mouse/rat. I never had a cat as a pet. But alley cats living around my neighborhood are common. And I like to watch them or give them a little bit food. They seems dont interested in mouse. In fact when I was a kid, I saw an adult cat ran away when a rat chasing him..it was so absurd yet hilarious. So is ´cat hunt mouse´ a myth? Or cats are just more spoiled nowadays (especially in urban area)?
or the mouse getting clever hiding from cat or what? or maybe in urban area ,there are more rat than mouse? Should cat afraid of rat? Have u ever seen a cat catch a rat? Or rat is not a match for cat?
Really, I like feline.Any creature from felidae family never stop amuse me. But seeing domestic alley cat/ferral cat not interested to hunt mouse let alone rat really makes me ¨WTF? that´s your prey, dummy! go get it!¨

I live in the country with farm land all around me. The cats around hear love mice. The outside cats will catch them and eat them. My inside cat will catch them and play them to death. As far as rats go, I’m not sure. I know rats can be mean and big. For sure cats will kill them too. I hope this helps.
