why do movies make me cry so easily?
Question by Will: why do movies make me cry so easily?
I’m a full grown man with a girlfriend. When I watch movies I often cry during intense parts. Not like boo-hoo crying but tears do come out of my eyes. And not during sad parts, but ALL intense parts. It could be a good martial arts fight that does it. I try to control it but have little success. Obviously it’s pretty embarrassing. Any advice? I guess I’m pretty sensitive and I need to get that under control.

Perhaps you have some condition? something related to high stress? when you cry is it because your feeling emotional or is it a bodily reaction you cant stop? does anything accompany the crying? like heavy breathing or fast heart beats?
In case it’s medical maybe you should have a doctor try to explain it. If it’s not, then I think you need to “harden up”, what I mean by this is you need to get in touch the with the realities of life (no, offense, but sounds to me like you don’t usually have much that is critical to worry about) but once you see life for what it is. stuff like movies will never seem remotely intense or sad to you, it just wont be important

Yes, I think your a bit too soft for your own good.
Yes, I think I can help you get over that(at least with this issue).
The only reason I want to help you is because you want to help yourself, you have my respect.
