With books, it seems whenever they make a movie about one it is always changed, why is this?

Sometimes the book is too long and too detailed to fit into a movie. Other times the directors want to move the plot along faster or add a scene they think will help make the movie more understandable. 🙂
I wish books into movies would stay completely true to books though ^.^ because they’re so good.
