Why is it movie critics usually don’t like movies from big budget studios?
Question by Sarah: Why is it movie critics usually don’t like movies from big budget studios?
It seems like if you put the word “independent” behind it, even if the film is awful movie critics rave about everything from direction to acting to lighting. The second a well known studio makes a film, they mostly pan it and complain about the amount of CGI, or how the writing was awful, etc. Why is this?

Because they think big studios only make movies for money and don’t care about the quality, so even if a movie ends up being good, it’s mostly accidental.
