In Windows 7, the latest iteration of Windows, Windows Movie Maker is no longer included in favor of its counterpart Windows Live Movie Maker, which is based on a different code base and has different functionalities. However, users have unofficially ported Windows Movie Maker from Windows Vista to Windows 7.
